She was hailed a heroine after saving Richard Branson’s mother from his burning villa in the Caribbean.

But it now seems the trip may have produced another memory for Kate Winslet.

The actress, 35, is said to be dating the mogul’s nephew, Ned Rocknroll.

They became close while holidaying at the luxury house on Necker Island last month, The Sun reported.

The pair were pictured arriving together for the memorial for Richard’s father Ted in London on Tuesday.

But Ned, 33, who changed his named from Abel Smith by deed poll, is still married and his estranged wife Eliza, 23, reportedly wants him back.

A source told the paper that after the couple split earlier this year ‘Ned was heartbroken and went to Necker island to take his mind of things.
‘But when Kate came out they really hit it off. They had met before on the island but were both in relationships.

‘When they left they travelled to New York to be together.’

But the new couple are keeping tight-lipped on any romance. Kate’s agent told the MailOnline today: ‘As usual, I am making no comment on Kate’s private life.’

Kate was pictured leaving for the island from Gatwick with her on-off boyfriend, Burberry model Louis Dowler on August 20.

Something missing: Louis did not accompany Kate to the Emmy Awards over the weekend

Before that they had not been seen together since November 2010 and he did not accompany her to the Emmy Awards over the weekend where she won a gong for her role in Mildred Pierce.

The source added: ‘Kate has been so happy. At the Emmys all she did was keep showing people pictures of Ned and talking about him.’

Meanwhile his wife Eliza reportedly said: ‘I’ve changed my mind about the divorce. I am hoping this will turn out to be more of a break.

‘I have never stopped loving him and we are soulmates. We’re not getting divorced.’

The couple were married in a lavish ceremony in 2009 at Eliza’s family’s estate in Sussex.

Princess Beatrice is said to have been a guest.

Kate was with her two children Mia, 10, and Joe, seven, when she carried Richard’s mother Eve downstairs as his home on the island burned to the ground on August 22.

And he revealed he was “totally smitten” with the 35-year-old Titanic star.

A source said: “When he met Kate he realised she was a real grown up and was attracted to her maturity.

“He also liked the fact she was a little bit older. He finds her incredibly sexy.”

Ned, 33, split from his society heiress wife Eliza — who is ten years his junior — earlier this year.

The source added: “I think he realised Eliza was a bit young for him and needed time to grow up, be independent and discover herself.”

Kate cosied up to Ned — who changed his surname by deed poll from Abel Smith — while they were staying on Virgin tycoon Branson’s Caribbean holiday island of Necker.

They were guests at the resort when it was ravaged by fire last month and were snapped on Monday sharing a joke together while out in central London.

Who Is Ned Rocknroll and Why Is He Getting Chummy With Kate Winslet?

The name’s Rocknroll. Ned Rocknroll. But who is he? Other than the bearer of the coolest and/or most ridiculous celebuspawn moniker out there, that is (you had a good run, MoxieCrimefighter).

Well, if the British tabloids are to be believed, he is quite literally the fire of Kate Winslet’s loins, as her fellow Necker Island vacationer inferno escapee is also reportedly her newfound boytoy.

And don’t let the kooky name fool you—this Brit’s got quite the pedigree…

First, the name. While Ned Rocknroll is, thanks to some possibly regrettable legal filings, now his actual name, he was born Abel Smith.

And as for those relations, Ned just so happens to be the nephew of Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, and was vacationing alongside Winslet, her kids and her seemingly now ex-beau model Louis Dowler on Necker Island when the devastating fire broke out last month.

Yep, that fire appears to have ignited a flame of a different kind, at least if their joined-at-the-hip cavorting around London is anything to go by.

We can thank the Daily Mail for lighting the match of speculation about these two rumored lovebirds. And whether they’re friends or more, 33-year-old Ned has certainly been popping up fairly frequently in the new Emmy winner’s daily routine (at least judging by the onslaught of paparazzi shots).

Just last Tuesday, the duo reportedly attended the memorial for Branson’s father together. And according to the Daily Mail, it was Ned, not Louis, who accompanied Kate on her trip back to New York after leaving the island.

The one potential hitch in the love story that’s apparently being written on their behalf? Ned is technically married to Eliza Cowdray, the 23-year-old daughter of a multimillionaire viscount. However, they reportedly separated earlier this month. Since neither side is talking, and unlikely to do so anytime soon, the speculation will remain just that.

Which means Kate may turn out to be a veritable Rock chick yet.
