‘I am sincerely grateful for my buttocks’: Kate Winslet shows off her curves in shorts as she explains why she loves her body

She’s an Oscar-winning screen goddess and star of one of the biggest-grossing films of all time.

But even Kate Winslet has had to deal with insecurities during her two decades in the public eye.

The 36-year-old recently opened up about how she has come to accept public attitudes towards her body, saying: ‘I am sincerely grateful for my buttocks’.

True to her word, Kate was spotted out wearing some very brief shorts in Boston, Massachusetts yesterday, accompanied by her boyfriend Ned Rocknroll and son Joe by former husband Sam Mendes.

Joe, 8, appeared relaxed, and meandered along next to his mother as she had a discussion with Ned.

The 33-year-old, who is Sir Richard Branson’s nephew, was likewise low-key in pale beige trousers and an orange jacket.

Kate herself looked fresh and pretty in a white blouse and her black shorts, teamed with sensible converse trainers.

The star recently opened up to Vanity Fair Italy about how she has come to accept attitudes towards her body shape.

She explained: ‘It’s one of those things I learned quickly to ignore. Once it was different, it hurt me.’

‘When I was twenty I pretended it didn’t bother me, but I felt very bad, I did. In front of journalists and the public I acted superior, but I was dying inside.’

‘Now everything is different. It takes time, but you can learn it,’ she added.

‘I believe it is important to go on insisting that normality is not what we are exposed to. Honestly, among my acquaintances there is no woman wearing XS. No, sorry, there is one: my daughter. The point is that Mia is 11 years old.’

“It’s true that you need much time to get rid of the fat girl you once were, but – you know – I am sincerely grateful for my buttocks. Wow, isn’t this a wonderful line?

The festival in aid of Prince Harry’s Big Change Charitable Trust charity is run by Ned’s cousin Sam Branson — Sir Richard’s son — and youngsters including Isabella Calthorpe.

Guests, who included Prince Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy and Isaac Ferry, paid £150 a head to run wild in the woods of the Prince’s friend Arthur Landon’s Hampshire estate in Ashmansworth.

Celine Dion understands that not everyone is thrilled that her 1998 hit is still, well, going on.

The Canadian singer, whose haunting ballad “My Heart Will Go On,” the theme from 1997’s “Titanic,” dominated radio in the late ’90s, acknowledged during a “Today” show interview Monday that the song was definitely overplayed.

” ‘My Heart Will Go On’ gave me the opportunity to be associated with a classic that will live forever,” she said of the song. “If I count how many times I’ve sung it, maybe it’ll get me sick.”

Earlier this year, “Titanic” star Kate Winslet admitted her own distaste for hearing the hit played on the radio ad nauseam.

“I wish I could say, ‘Oh listen, everybody! It’s the Celine Dion song!’ ” she told MTV News. “But I don’t. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll.”

Dion, 44, says she understands Winslet’s annoyance — especially now, in the wake of the film’s rerelease in 3-D.

“If she feels tired just hearing it, and, like, throwing up, I’m glad she was not the one singing it.”

‘Labor Day’ filming in Montague, MA on June 8, 2012

According to Recorder.com, the new Kate Winslet/Josh Brolin film Labor Day will be filming around Montague, MA next week.

Filming of the movie “Labor Day” is scheduled for Friday 6/8 at locations in the villages of Turners Falls and Millers Falls, two in the seemingly ever-increasing list of area stops for the production.

In Millers Falls, filming will involve a view of E. Main Street stocked with 1980s-era vehicles.

Josh Slates appeared on behalf of the production at a Board of Selectmen’s meeting Thursday, requesting permission to use various public areas and outlining plans for filming and logistical operations, much of which will take place on private property.

On Friday, Winslet was spotted filming scenes at Fanara’s Tonsorial Parlor in Natick. In addition to Turner Falls and Millers Falls, Labor Day is expected to shoot in Shelburne Falls next week too.
