Kate Winslet is the new Ambassador for St. John fashion line
Kate Winslet follows in the footsteps of Gisele Bundchen, Angelina Jolie, and Karen Elson as the new face of St. John. She has been an “elegance” ambassador for Longines watches and is a long-time face for Lancôme. Her posh looks suit the brand perfectly, though someday we’d love to see someone a bit dirtier shake the brand up a bit. If you’re in New Jersey today, WWD reports that Craig McDean will be shooting the campaign there if you’d like to try and crash it. Look for the first ads to hit mags this September.

The Oscar-winning actress will be the face of St. John’s Fall 2011 campaign, WWD reports.
Expected to be shooting the campaign with photographer Craig McDean in New Jersey on April 27, the British beauty succeeds past spokesmodels Kelly Gray, Liya Kebede, Gisele Bündchen, Angelina Jolie, and Karen Elson, who is the brand’s most recent face.
While Winslet—who currently serves as a brand ambassador for Lancôme—scores another plum campaign gig, St. John will no doubt enjoy the benefits of having a high-profile movie star back on its books.
As to whether her ads will mimic Elson’s bold and energetic feel or Jolie‘s glamorous black-and-white aesthetic, well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

In print campaign news, according to Elle, Kate Winslet is the new face of St. John for Fall 2011, filling in the place once held by girls ranging from Angelina Jolie to Gisele Bündchen and Karen Elson. The images will be shot by Craig McDean and drop in September.
